The hardware behind your server
Your server runs on dedicated hardware that we set up and manage ourselves, in a professional data centre in Germany. Here’s what we use and why.
Chosen for game servers
Game servers are unusual. Most of them run their world simulation on a single CPU core, so clock speed matters far more than core count. That’s why we use desktop-class AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D processors instead of the many-core, lower-clocked chips found in most cloud servers.
- AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D processors with fast single cores
- Memory never oversold: what you pay for is always there
- NVMe SSD storage for fast world loads and saves
- Dedicated machines, not shared cloud servers
- Off-site backups of our systems
Node specification
Low ping across the UK and Europe
We rent dedicated servers from Hetzner, one of Europe’s largest data centre operators. Their data centres in Germany have redundant power and network connections, and sits around 20–30 ms from most of the UK. That’s quick enough that co-op and survival games feel instant.
Typical round-trip times. Your own ping depends on your internet provider and connection.
How we run things
No overselling
The total memory we sell never exceeds what the machine has. When a node is full, we stop selling on it.
DDoS mitigation
Network-level protection filters common attacks before they reach your server.
Fast game updates
When a game updates, we update the server images quickly so your players are never locked out.
